The new Xbox slim hard drive is the perfect device to store your important Xbox related files. When the Xbox Slim debuted in 2010 it appeared that something was missing. In the past, Xbox utilized a top mounted hard drive with multiple options for storage space. While this seemed perfect in the beginning, Microsoft began to notice some issues with the top mounted storage device. First and foremost there were too many storage options. The top mounted hard drive could be purchased in 20 gigs, 60 gigs, and 120 gigs. This resulted in either too little space or too much space for the consumer.
While having too much space was not a major problem, having too little space could cost Microsoft some of their dedicated fan base. In an effort to cater to hardcore games and casual games, the Xbox 360 Slim was released in two formats. The first machine was built with a 4 gig internal memory for casual and budget minded gamers. It would allow the user all of the same features its heavy weight counterpart while still maintaining a light weight price. The second machine, aimed more at hard core consumers, boasted the 250 gig Xbox slim hard drive.
This powerhouse allowed the consumer plenty of storage space for all of their Xbox needs. The new Xbox design was small, sleek, and quiet when compared to older versions of the Xbox 360. Of course, this new Xbox still offered all of the same perks as previous models, including Xbox Live access and multiple USB ports. Microsoft even began an update to its online services by including live streaming with Netflix and ESPN on demand. All of these additional improvements made purchasing the Xbox 360 Slim a bargain. Microsoft is known for quality products and the Xbox 360 Slim maintains that tradition.
